Well it is now Jan 4th, we have survived the holiday season. We didn’t really “go” anywhere, but I sure do feel drained. THere was a few family gatherings, and then we had Jackson’s Birthday on Saturday, 1-2-10
We took him to Medievil Times, it was a blast. There was a group of 11 of us that went. Me, Garry, Taylor, Summer, Jackson, Leanna, Sean, Bessie, Brian, Vince and Caitlin. For a few it was a first visit, the kids really enjoyed it. Summer has already said she wants to go there for her birthday in April. (We’ll see about that)

This was the best fathers day we have had in a while. We all spent time with Dad down at my older sister’s house. I have lots of pictures, I’ll post them later. There were a few times of emotions, but we all handled it really well. It was very hard for me to pick a card, but I found the perfect one. It was a father’s day prayer that the Lord would be there and comfort the hard times of stress or sickness. I also added some of my own. I hope that it hits home with dad, I expressed to him that I want to be sure that he is at peace with the Lord, so that we will NEVER be apart from eachother, we will always be connected.

Things didn’t work out for me at KTS. So once again I am a stay at home mom, looking for work. To get into the details of the situation would be too wordy, I just will say that, I acted on my instinct.
Ideally I would love to just stay home, but I do need to help contribute. Working from home would be the best or a late second shift would work to. I just have to get my feelers out there. SO for now, playdates, count me in.

Leanna graduated from North Central College on 6-7-08. She officially walked in the ceremony. It was really a great day, we then headed to Sean’s moms house for the after party. She had all sorts of food and a great cake for Leanna. Dad had a rough time getting through the ceremony – sitting in the wheelchair. The Sun was shining brightly – resulting in a very red sunburn on my back and chest. (ohwell – totally worth it)
With Father’s Day coming up, things are very emotional for me. Dad is really not doing well. The latest result from the CT Scan shows that the cancer is worse than ever, and in more places that it was to start with. The only thing to do is to try to keep Dad comfortable.
Summer finished her soccer classes, she did really well. It was a six week program. Most of the classes were held inside because of the weather, but the last couple weeks were spent outside in the grassy field. It was so much fun, the last week parents were involved with the class. Summer taught me all the things that she learnd, like “happy feet” and “trapping the ball”. After her last class she got a ribbon from Coach Sara (who Summer adored). It was great!! They grow up so fast.
I asked Summer what the next sport/class she wanted to take. She said, “Dancing!!” So starting tomorrow 6-12-08 we will be doing a dance class for the next 6 weeks. Jazzy Juniors, she gets to wear a pink leotard, pink tights & pink ballet shoes. She is very excited and can’t wait for me to take her picture.
The big news for Jackson!!! this moring 6-11-08 I was getting him ready for a bath (before going to work) so I put him on the toilet to see if he would go. We sat for a little bit, then I just kept talking to him about making it come, and . . . .. HE POOPED in the Toilet. He was so excited as soon as he knew what he did. He threw his hands in the air and smiled SOOO Big. It was the best moment. I can’t wait for him to do it again.

It is so great to know that I have some of the greatest friends ever. I never have to think twice about what to say and not to say, because I know that they are not judging me. I am so grateful that we get to have time to sit and talk about life. Katie & Lea, I love you!!!!

After weeks of living high on life, my dad was given news that his cancer is back (still there). A few weeks ago a test result showed that everything seemed to be fine, the cancer had disipated and there was a concern with a mass in the lung. That turned out to be nothing, and Dad’s chore was to just gain strength and weight. All was going well until the results of the latest PET Scan. It showed that the cancer was back. It the area where would be a stomach, the mass had relocated. Things are not looking so good. To make matters worse, Dad passed out while at the doctors office. He is now getting daily saline bags and has to return to Chicago on Tuesday for what to do next. The Chemo treatments can not start back up until the internal blood leak is stopped.
I praise the Lord every day for allowing me to see my dad, Thank You!!

So, lots of days are really great. But the best day so far is 2-24-08. The day I was baptized. It is such a great feeling to know that I belong to Jesus and that I have made my commitment to Him known. I look forward to all the wonderful things to come for me and my family.

We (when I say we, I really mean ME) were almost going to adopt Candy, the dog from the Amost Home Foundation. I don’t know what I was thinking. There are too many reason why it is not a good idea right now. They far outweigh the good things about bringing her home to live with us. I am glad that I came to my senses. It helped to talk to some of the people at work and get their opinions on the idea. I feel really bad because I led the agency to believe that we were really intereted. Which, isn’t altogether a lie. I really am interested in being the home for a doggie, but timing is wrong for us right now. I hope that AHF doesn’t have hard feelings. I emailed them a few hours ago, and I haven’t heard back yet. We were suppose to meet tonight to see Candy again. So sad!!

So, today Summer, Jackson and I went to PetsMart with Leanna. She was exchanging a collar for Lucy. Well. . . . . today was and adoption show at the store. Candy Girl wants to come to live with us. She is soooooooooooooo cute. I haven’t stopped thinking about her since we left the store. I just don’t know what to do.
She is about 2 years old, Golden mix. She came to Almost Home Foundation from Champaign, IL. Her back is at about knee height. Summer really took to her right away. We stayed and pet her for quite a while. I have all the papers that I would need inorder to adopt her, but am uneasy about it.
Garry, of course, right away said no. Then he said it was my decision and that I would have to deal with the dog myself. I didn’t feel that was very fair. We would be getting the dog to be a “family dog”, so why would I be the only one responsible for her.
I really want her, I have emailed the agency and asked for them to send me pictures and all the info that they have on her. Their website is www.almosthomefoundation.org it didn’t have Candy Girl’s picture listed when I checked. They just got her in today from Champaign.
What should I do???
